New Customer Onboarding: Your First Week

Welcome to Maxinames. This article walks through what to do in the first hour, the first day, and the first week to get your account in good shape.

First hour

1. Confirm your email. Click the verification link in your welcome message.
2. Log in at manage.maxinames.com.
3. Enable 2FA. See our Two-Factor Authentication article. Five minutes, big security win.
4. Save the welcome email with your hosting credentials somewhere safe (a password manager is ideal).

First day

1. Point your domain at hosting. See Connecting Your Domain to Hosting for the steps.
2. Install your CMS via Softaculous in cPanel, or upload your existing site files via SFTP.
3. Verify SSL. Visit your site with https:// and confirm the padlock appears.
4. Create your email mailboxes under cPanel → Email Accounts.

First week

1. Set up a backup. Schedule a weekly backup or enable our managed backup add-on.
2. Add your billing details and a backup payment method.
3. Add a sub-account for your developer or accountant if they need access.
4. Review notification preferences so you get alerted on the things that matter (billing, expiry, support).
